Maker’s Note

In the interest of full transparency, this pipe presented us with a few challenges during the build. The draft hole entered the tobacco chamber slightly off center, and two natural sand pits were uncovered on the underside of the bowl during shaping. Rather than remove additional briar and compromise the desired bowl thickness, the sand pits were professionally filled and finished.

These are cosmetic/build imperfections and do not affect the function of the pipe. The airway is open and properly enters the bottom of the chamber, the pipe passes our final fit and function checks, and it is ready to be enjoyed as intended.

Because it does not meet our normal cosmetic standards, we have priced Briar 31 accordingly. Someone is going to get a great bargain on a striking handmade pipe with beautiful natural grain and a one-of-a-kind turquoise stem.
